At Margins: The ISA Book Club, we believe that books are experiences, and the full experience with books involves a connection that goes beyond downloading and analyzing information. We believe that a relationship with a book is a conversation, and it is one that is best shared with others.
Margins is a community of active readers formed by Iloilo Scholastic Academy. In an effort to take the school’s reading program to the next level, it aims to connect readers while enriching their experience with reading, through a deeper engagement with books.
To create a fun community bonded by books, open minds, and meaningful conversations.

Quiz Privilege: Literature
A learner-led activity where the group members meet once a month to discuss the assigned book.
Book Club discussions are aimed to provide a safe and open environment, where members are free to voice out their opinions, ideas, and feelings about a book or topic.
Literacy or Reading Month is an effort in coordination with the English Division and other clubs. It will be a month of storytelling, read-aloud sessions, and contests.
Nights where Margins and/or non-Margins members watch a movie or play games together on Google Meet or Discord. These are activities that strengthen the bonds of the members/ISAers as they share their thoughts and feelings about a film or take a break from their academic load.
This activity is held twice a month to promote literacy and love for reading among grade 1 to 6 learners, who belong to the Intervention Group. The Intervention Group is determined by the pretest results of the learners who belong to the Basic and Below Basic Readers based on the Reading Comprehension scale per grade level.
Each group of Margins members will be assigned to hold Read-Aloud Sessions to a certain grade level/category. Stories to be used will be taken from the Scholastic Reading Program system, and book quiz results of such stories shall be utilized as the basis for evaluating the learners’ comprehension.
This is a yearly fund-raising activity, which aims to engage the ISA community to share interests in reading, develop creativity, and foster cooperation.
Literacy programs such as reading comprehension activities, storytelling, read-alouds to a chosen community, such as barangay literacy centers.
