Iloilo Scholastic Academy was named Scholastic Best Reading School at the 2026 Scholastic Readers Cup, earning the most major awards among more than 200 participating schools nationwide.
ISA learners received six major awards across the Primary, Intermediate, and Junior High School levels, with placements in both BASAnihan, which recognizes reading volume, and Reading Pro, which recognizes reading proficiency. The school also received the Scholastic Readers Achievement recognition, with learners averaging at least 40 books read each.
The achievement builds on ISA’s 15-year partnership with Scholastic Philippines to establish a sustained reading culture. Over the years, reading has become an integral part of the ISA experience, supported by the consistent efforts of learners, facilitators, and families.
During the ceremony, ISA Executive Director Mr. Peter Chan emphasized that reading has never been intended as a passing trend or simply a requirement to fulfill. It has long been central to the school’s approach to developing learners.
The ISA community celebrates this recognition and the years of shared effort behind it, while continuing its commitment to helping learners read widely, deepen their understanding, and grow through books.
