In welcoming the Year of the Ox, the Iloilo Scholastic Academy held the Virtual Chinese New Year Celebration earlier today, February 12, 2020.
The virtual program opened with warm greetings of happiness and prosperity from the ISA community. This was followed by presentations from the Preschool, Elementary, and High School levels that aim to appreciate Chinese culture through singing, dancing, and meaningful messages.
“On this occasion, I sincerely wish all the faculty and learners happiness, good health, and academic success,” said Hon. Jia Li, Chinese Consul General in Cebu.
“We have encountered a lot of challenges, “ said City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, “but with the unity and cooperation of everyone, we can attain our goals and continue to make Iloilo City a liveable and healthy place for all of us.”
Finally, the Chinese New Year Crafts Making Contests concluded the event. It consisted of interactive activities, with Grades 1-3 partaking in the Year of the Ox Paper, Grades 4-6 with the Year of the Ox Styro Cup Crafts, and Grades 7-12 with the Chinese Food Trivia, followed by more games and activities prepared by the facilitators.
