With the goal to share best practices and exchange insights for educational excellence, facilitators of Iloilo Scholastic Academy and Bacolod Tay Tung engaged in an in-depth discussion on teaching methodologies and strategies in the implementation of ISA’s Math curriculum and Scholastic Pr1me English Reading Program on August 2, 2023.
Educators from the Math Department of Bacolod Tay Tung High School had the opportunity to observe Math classes, centered on Block Models to answer word problems, which were facilitated by Mrs. Dannisa Espiritu (elementary Math division head) and Ms. Windeline Arsenal (Math facilitator) while the English facilitators of Bacolod Tay Tung High School witnessed the read-aloud activity facilitated by Ms. Glenda Palmes and Ms. Elma Caguimbay (English facilitators).
Following the class observations, the visiting educators engaged in productive sharing sessions with the Executive Director Mr. Peter Chan and Division Heads Dannisa Espiritu (Elementary Math), Celian Coronado (High School Math), and Eden Joy Malte (High School English). The interactive discussions allowed both groups of educators to delve into each school’s best practices and explore effective teaching strategies and methodologies.
Dr. Molato, Pre-school Head of Bacolod Tay Tung High School, expressed her gratitude to Iloilo Scholastic Academy for warmly welcoming their team and facilitating such a valuable activity. She highlighted the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, stating that learning from each other’s successes and challenges can drive the both schools forward.
Mrs. Garinganao, Math department head at Bacolod Tay Tung High School, echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that the activity has equipped their teachers with new insights and ideas they would like to apply in their school.
By engaging in this activity, both schools aimed to further raise the bar in delivering quality education that prepares learners to become globally competent individuals.
