Iloilo Scholastic Academy earned first place in the Elementary Level and second place in the High School Level at the 2026 Visayas-wide “HuaYuQing” Chinese Language Proficiency Competition. ISA also produced the most top scorers across both levels.
Held with the support of the Chinese Consulate General in Cebu and the Philippine Chinese Education Center, the competition brought together 1,800 learners from 18 Chinese schools across Iloilo, Cebu, Bacolod, Dumaguete, and Tacloban.
ISA considers the competition a significant benchmark for Chinese language education in the Visayas. The results reflected the collective performance of its learners, with achievement extending beyond a single standout participant.
For the school, the recognition affirms two decades of developing and refining its approach to Chinese language instruction. Its teaching methods have evolved over the years to help learners build a strong foundation in the language.
