Fourth Year ISAer Toni Harriette Chavez captured the highest honor in the Grand Finals round of the 13th ABS-CBN Inter-school Newscasting Competition (English Category) for school year 2015-2016 held at SM City Event Center. Hundreds of high school students in Iloilo joined the quest for the best student newscasters.
In the semi-finals, 20 grand finalists were chosen out of more than a hundred hopefuls in each category (English, Filipino, and Hiligaynon) bidding to compete in the Grand Finals.
The ABS-CBN Newscasting Competition is endorsed by the Department of Education (DepEd). DepEd believes it enhances students’ communication skills and provides a competitive environment for students across the region.
